transferring resources between cities

I need a little help. Managed to found my second city but cannot seem to figure out of to transfer resources between the cities. I have the quest to transfer resources, but cannot find a wagon icon. Probably just missing something.

Would be interested in an alliance as well, but admittedly I am not going to be a lot of help to the group at this point

You have build the Merchant Guilds?

yes, I do have a merchant guild - does it have to be a certain level?

inside the guild you should recruit merchants, and the remainder you have it all here:

I think the problem is that i have to have the gate open at both ends. Now I know what to look for I should be able to put this together. thanks a lot for your help with this.
