I have been playing the game for a few days now and can find nothing to do but checking in on my buildings and sciences 1 or 2 times a day. Is there something I'm missing?
Also I've heard people talking about this mentor thing. Whatever it is can I have one?
What do I do?
Re: What do I do?
Basically, accomplish the goals that are set in quests and use those resources to create essential buildings and to upgrade what you need (or just your resource/science buildings).
Beyond that, you research a path down to Gate "technology" and then you open your gate if you want to speed things up a bit. Use the reward from it (or hold onto it) and you'll have a long term and heavy-duty protection from any attacks. Keep doing the quest thing and expanding as much as you can.
After that it is a lot of personal choices. I find that since people aren't able to simply blast towns outside of their "weight class" (your stars next to your cities shows how much military might you have and who you can attack) and the fact building an army seems slow at first people are not that aggressive except to hit people who have left the game.
I'd suggest a Clan, but I don't have one either at the moment. Clans would definitely make people think twice about hitting you...unless Clans are fighting. Then sorry.
I can offer more direct advice if you ask questions. I'm still a lowbie One-Star with only a couple allies and no Clan. Very serious people go to the non-English forums and auto-translate guides from there.
