Re: salve capturing
hi! I do not know how far you are into the game, so I may be giving you more information than you need... in which case, disregard what you do not need. Someone else may benefit from the rest in the future, though
You want to spy on the places first. Only use a few spies, say two or three. Do not even try to spy on a place that has the little red shield. That means they have the protection of the ancients and no matter what, your spies, army, or whatever you send in there, they are all going to die. Sometimes there are locks on everything. You can save those reports, but if you attack those places, you will die... all of your army will die. lol
I save all the places I spy on. I then can refer back to them at a later time if I want to attack for resources or slaves.. The little stack of papers on the lower left side is where you save the reports. The reports go into your mailbox. The only reports you cannot save are the ones you are not successful at. I keep telling myself I am going to start a little notepad of this, but I still haven't. I think it would be a great idea.
If you have already completed a robbery, then you should pretty much know how to carry through with the slave taking. Although I save my reports and I refer to them before approaching a place to ransack, I always spy again, first, just before attacking, just in case the kingdom has upgraded their place, added more army, etc... as they may not be worth attacking after all, unless you can go in with twice as much or more of an army. The spy report will tell you how many slaves are available for you to take (directly under their population), just like it does the resources you can take (directly under the resources they have). Generally it is around half or less of what they have. They may not have the resources or slaves that the report you saved had either, so, again, always spy just before an attack. If your spies get attacked and die, then chances are you will get attacked. You may want to beef up your army or forget the whole idea of going in there. Obviously, something has changed in their military defenses, as your spies got in last time.
In which case, go on to the next place
I hope this helps. This just my experience. Good Luck!

Re: salve capturing
That is not true. Ancients don't have anything to do with spies.Kuroo wrote: ...

Re: salve capturing
How so?
Anytime I have tried to spy on a city with a shield, my spies, even when I sent all 15 of them (what a sad, stupid thing that was), they did not make it.
I offer you an opportunity to try this, with what the new people start out with, 15 spies that is, and see what happens to you.
Good luck. I await your report.

Yes he / she is right Ancients have only the job to protect you from enemy attacks, nothing else.
Your spies die because he has a counterspy guild.
