there is a quest to complete 150 quests without failing more then 5. I am considering attempting this however the only quests that one can fail on timers seem to be Gem based. Is it worth spending gems for a helmet or is it cheaper to just spend gems on it after I get a hero?

I don't think its important to try to do that one. Basically its an attempt to get new players to buy Gems regularly. You will earn gems in ruins and lakes. You can also bid for them with Gold.

That's just my 2 cents, but I'm a fairly new player.

affter helmet 150 quest have a other for 200 quest, and final for 50 last quest,

1 st, - helmet give 2000 scince/hour - and this is good thing for new players.
becose scince most important thing in the start.
200 | 50 qest what come affter - have a lvl 5 art as a reward.
in the end you can haved a good arts.
but if you not raddy to pay 100- 200$ for 150 quest, do not do it.
for 200 quest you can pay 0 - 1000$.
for last 50. 0-200$.
