I have a hero! What do I do with it?

So, finally got my hero, a Guru.
How do I get skill points?
Do I send it out on attacks?
What do I do next?

use your hero when attacking other players

if you want to get skill points you need to acquire experience first. Once there is enough experience your hero will level up and you will be assigned skill points for that.
You can get experience either by attacking other players/monsters or you can buy a bottle of experience (if you get it on sale in your Trader tab). Those bottles are bought for common wood and gold.

Take your hero on ruin raid missions to get experience.
Buy experience potions from the market when you can.
When you get a couple levels under your belt, try to summon troops whenever you can with your Guru hero.
Each level will give you 2 skill points to spend.
Later when you get into a good clan and if they have a Clan Castle with an Arena, you can visit it and stay to learn experience points per hour based on the Arena's level.
