change password

Because of a recklessness I had to change the password of my account. all good and beauty, until I realized I was being given a new password, and I couldn't choose it my self. to be wonderful, we can't even control the automatic entry and today yahoo mail did not work, that means I was unable to access my account.
so, would you please to give us the opportunity to choose our own password, when we want to change it?
this meaningless sequence of characters, which the game gives automatically, is quite difficult to remember
thank you

In order to change your password, click on the Question icon near the password input field on the login page.

This is not what Mermaid is asking. She has already went through this step.

She is referring to the manor in which a new password is supplied. One does not get to choose their password, they are given a string of random letters/numbers and that's their new password.
(If requested again, another will be generated)

This is specifically why I've made sure to remember the original password I selected to avoid admin generating an unfamiliar one for me.

I agree, one should be able to pick their own password. Seems like a strange system.

Yeah the only thing i can imagine one can do is to always generate a new pw until you get a nice one. Of course thats not good usability...

I double agree on being strange here. For security reasons, to avoid being hacked, everywhere we have to periodically change passwords. Here in MyLands, we cannot ... and we see accounts being hacked!!!

mermaid, unfortunately, this procedure cannot be changed. Automatically generated passwords are much more secure and we recommend our players to use only such passwords for their game accounts.

MLGame is the only source I've heard of that restricts new passwords to be only randomly generated. Even stranger is that the process doesn't begin this way, the first one is allowed to be chosen.

Bizarre, really.

In my experience, if you force complicated passwords on users, they tend to write them on post-its and stick them to the monitor frame. :)
It's everything, but safe.

Lets hope ml comes back to the browser soon, so pw manager can do its job again...

Just to confirm: It is the first time I ever see a site forcing to use a password that we cannot change to another, which we could use along to some security rules.
