My Lands: Black Gem Hunting

Ok i have my alchemist labs busy researching something that will take over a day - if I switch to researching something else thats a bit faster (and that i realize would be more usefull at the moment) - would i loose all progress on what im researching now ?

all science point become to new science, if this is more even need for this new science you lost last points.
but this scene will be learned immediately.
