HELLO MY FRIENDS!
Welcome in first part of My Lands Game Guide. I see you here, in the beginners guide so I guess you’re a new player, small enough to start all over again enjoying your ideal race. Now follow me – I’ll present you all of the game races. No… we won’t talk about their origin – it’s explain pretty well in encyclopedia. We’ll look closer at their advantages and disadvantages and maybe try to type the best one!
FACTIONS
Each race belongs to one of two factions - Light and Dark. Faction is very important in PvP(Player versus Player) game. If we'd attack player of our faction we'll get -25% attack penalty (just for that attack). Things looks worse if we’d attack player of your own race. Our attack will be decreased by 50% (-25% for faction and -25% for race). But it’s not over! After attacking our blood player we’ll become a renegade for 7 days. Each player can attack renegade without any penalties!
Now some of positive faction influence to our game. There's special Faction Rating. It’s not part of Main Rating but is linked with a few very important quests (we can get premium account reward!). To finish that quest we need to reach specified amount of Rating points so we have to take care about our faction rating. The catch is that the Faction Rating is the only rating that can be negative! We lose precious points by attacking (no need to be genius to guess
) our faction players. We can't feel too confident if we have 0 points!
I have no idea why (I can only suppose) but most of the players choose the light faction. It makes our choice more complicated. If we'd join the light faction more players will have penalties in case of attacking us but (the other side) we won't have as many target as dark faction member.
Uff… So much information and choice isn’t even a little easier. We need to take a look into races directly to have clear situation sketch.
A FEW WORDS OF INTRODUCTION
Each race in game has a few bonuses. It’s increased production bonus and military unit bonus. This few bonuses are the only difference between races and that will be our reference point. Game economy makes each production pointless. You can robber a lot more, more resources from monsters(ruins). Game economy makes each production pointless. You can rob a lot more, more resources from monsters(ruins). Another important thing is that production stops if our warehouses are overfilled (and this is common situation in late game!). I know it’s called mining server but daily production is so small that it’s even funny. I don’t know who has invented this name but it wasn’t me
. So we can easy ignore this bonuses. Military units bonuses are more interesting so will be explained in details.
1. KNIGHTS
Increased(50%) crops production – useless.
The second bonus is (theoretically) more valuable - increased(200%) gold production. There's an “economy tactic” called gold cities. This can be done by creating a city adjusted ONLY to gold production. The gold cities are placed on desert terrain, where gold production is increased I really, really doubt in the efficient of this tactic. My experience confirms that I can rob a lot more gold from ruins.
Knight has also special bonus - increased warehouses capacity by 100%. It's the more valuable bonus of this race. Even if we don't need so much storage place we can "sacrifice" less fields for warehouses so we can put there another important building instead. It's as important in peaceful game as in PvP game. We can place another military or defensive. If warehouses are overfilled we lose a lot of resources because of plundering (our resources are placed just on the street so everyone can grab them
).
Military unit bonus increases(100%) carriers capacity. Carriers are the unit to take the stolen resources. Each knight carrier can take 100 resources. And again (it's not good day for knights) - this is really weak bonus. Good player produce as many carriers as it possible. They are cheap, they can be fast produced and it's better to send attack with more carriers and let some of them die than lose other (more precious) units. So you should always have more carriers than it's necessary. In other words - you'll always carry all of the resources without 100% knight carriers bonus.
2. ELVES
Elves has only one useless bonus – increased(100%) wood production.
In return they have the best military unit bonus. Elves healers treats one more unit. Healer is special unit that has minimal damage but after each battle raises some of the fallen units. Normal healer treats 1-3 units (based on level) - elves healer treats 2-4 units what's really can make a difference. 750 elves healers is equal to 1000 knight healers.
3. DEMONS
Increased(100%) stone production – useless.
Demons assassins has increased(about 50%) attack value. They are cheap, gold-only cost units that are usually sent to die, but before that they have to weaken our opponent. They have only one HP and can be easy destroyed. One assassin kills about 7 (demon 11) enemy assassins. The disadvantage of using assassins is that you they (almost?) always dies. You need them to destroy enemy assassins and to protect your cities. Assassins are very important unit what makes this bonus pretty useful.
4. DARK ELVES (DROWS)
Useless bonuses for wood(50%) and iron(100%) production.
More important are mages bonuses. Each drow mage decreases defensive towers damage. Drow mages reduces 100% more damage than other races. Drow mages are also produced faster(100%). Magic tower can inflict giant damage and we’d need a lot of mages to neutralize that but it’s a lot easier if each mage reduces twice more. Mages also regenerates hero mana so we can cast spells more frequently.
5. SUMMARY
If someone would ask me which race is more powerful I will always choose Elves. The next two are debatable, but the weakest race are definitely knights. It’s all we can tell about races differences. We can of course get trough design and looks of each race city, but I have to left some work to you guys.
Thanks for reading and see you soon!
